LapsoWork vs Sesame HR (2026): detailed comparison of prices, time tracking and modules

Sesame HR is, together with Factorial, the HR software that comes up most often when a Spanish SME looks for time tracking. It publishes its prices, has a very broad feature catalogue and a large sales network. LapsoWork plays in a different league on price and scope: it covers the day-to-day HR operations for less than half the price per employee. This LapsoWork vs Sesame HR comparison puts the two products side by side with data you can check: every Sesame HR figure was verified on its own website on 15 September 2026 and links to the page it comes from. Where we could not verify something, we say so.

For a concrete workforce: a company with 30 employees pays €60 a month with LapsoWork on the Basic plan or €105 on Advanced; with Sesame HR, €157.50 a month on Essential billed monthly or €142.50 billed annually. We ran the same calculation for nine providers in our price comparison of time tracking software for 30 employees.

Two nuances matter. Sesame HR’s 15-employee minimum leaves micro-businesses out, whereas LapsoWork bills only for the employees you have. And Sesame HR’s Essential plan includes shifts, while in LapsoWork shifts come with the Advanced plan: if your company needs rosters, the fair comparison is €3.50 versus €5.25.

What each plan includes

LapsoWork Basic (€2): time tracking, leave and absence management, document management, payslip distribution, biometric signature of documents and the mobile app. LapsoWork Advanced (€3.50): adds shifts, a whistleblowing channel compliant with Spanish Law 2/2023, contracts and recruitment. Companies with more than 40 employees can have a custom plan with bespoke development.

Sesame HR Essential (€5.25): Core, Time Tracking, Leave and Absences and Shifts, at Business level. Connect (€6.00): adds Tasks, Recruitment and Internal Communication. Growth (€6.75): raises Core, Time Tracking and Leave to Enterprise level and adds Culture and Performance. Scale (€9.00): adds SSO and API. All checked on its pricing page on 15/09/2026.

The honest reading is this: Sesame HR sells a tiered talent suite (tasks, internal communication, culture, performance, surveys) that LapsoWork does not have. LapsoWork sells the operations every SME needs every month, with two things we could not find published by Sesame HR: payslip distribution signed from the phone and an integrated whistleblowing channel.

Time tracking: clock-in methods and compliance

It is the module most SMEs buy first, so we compare it in detail.

Both comply with Spanish Royal Decree-Law 8/2019 and both present themselves as ready for the digital working-time record the Ministry of Labour is preparing for the private sector. Sesame HR offers more ways to clock in (QR, WhatsApp, smartwatch, facial recognition on a tablet); LapsoWork covers the ones an SME uses daily (web, app, shared tablet, card or PIN) and puts the effort into making the record immutable, exportable and usable without training.

Security, data and certifications

LapsoWork is certified under ISO 9001 and the Spanish National Security Framework (ENS) at medium level, and hosts its data in Spain. Sesame HR displays the ISO 27001 certification and the innovative SME seal on its website; we found no reference to the ENS on its site, which does not mean it lacks it, only that we cannot assert it. For a private company both options are solid; for anyone working with public administrations or wanting hosting in Spain, LapsoWork’s ENS is a verifiable point in its favour.

Size, support and maturity

Sesame HR states on its website more than 14,000 client companies and has offices in Valencia and Mexico City, with presence in several countries across Europe and Latin America. LapsoWork works with more than 200 Spanish SMEs, provides support in Spanish from the same team that builds the product, and its app is rated 4.7 out of 5 with more than 2,500 reviews on the app stores. If you value a large sales network and a catalogue that grows by tiers, Sesame HR has the edge; if you value that the person who answers knows your account, LapsoWork.

Who each one is best for

Sesame HR is the better option if:

  • Your company works intensively on performance reviews, culture, internal communication or team surveys and wants everything in one suite.
  • You need to clock in via QR, WhatsApp or smartwatch, or integrate existing biometric terminals.
  • You have 15 employees or more and price per employee is not the main criterion.

LapsoWork is the better option if:

  • You want to comply with time tracking, leave, documents and payslips for €2 per employee, with no commitment and no minimum headcount.
  • You need to distribute payslips and collect signatures from the phone, or a whistleblowing channel built into the same software.
  • You prefer hosting in Spain and ENS certification, for example because you work with the public sector.
  • You have fewer than 15 employees, where Sesame HR does not go.

What does Sesame HR do that LapsoWork does not?

What does LapsoWork do that Sesame HR does not?

LapsoWork includes in its Basic plan payslip distribution with biometric signature from the phone and, in Advanced, a whistleblowing channel compliant with Spanish Law 2/2023. We did not find those features published on Sesame HR’s website. LapsoWork is also ENS-certified at medium level and hosts data in Spain.

Is it worth switching from Sesame HR to LapsoWork?

It depends on which modules you use. If you mainly use time tracking, leave, shifts and documents, LapsoWork covers the same for €2 or €3.50 per employee against €5.25, and our team migrates your data at no cost. If you use Sesame HR’s talent and performance modules, it is not worth it.
