LEGAL COMPLIANCE

Compliant with RDL 8/2019 and ready for the digital working-time record Royal Decree

The daily working-time record has been mandatory since 2019 (art. 34.9 of the Workers’ Statute). The Royal Decree on the digital record, being processed and unpublished in the BOE as of 15/09/2026, will ban manual methods (paper, Excel, signatures) and require unique identification, automatic time-stamping, full traceability of corrections, export in a verifiable format and remote access for the Inspectorate.

Current penalty: €751 to €7,500 per serious infringement. The draft proposes up to €10,000 per worker.

Is it legal to clock in from your phone?
Yes. The law accepts any electronic system that identifies the worker, applies a time stamp and allows audited exports. Clocking in from the Lapsowork app meets all three requirements.
How do I know if my company is ready for the 2026 clock-in law?

Can you clock in without an internet connection?
