Which companies are required to have a whistleblowing channel?

All companies with 50 or more employees, public-sector entities and legal entities that receive European funds. The obligation came into force on 13 June 2023 for companies with over 250 employees and on 1 December 2023 for those with 50–249 employees.

What penalties apply for not implementing it?

The Independent Authority for the Protection of the Informant may impose penalties of up to €1,000,000 for legal entities and up to €300,000 for individuals.

Does the channel have to be external?

No. The law allows an internal or external channel. LapsoWork offers both: a custom internal portal or an external channel managed by an independent third party.

Can reports be made anonymously?

Yes. The whistleblower chooses whether to preserve their identity. The system allows further communication without revealing who they are.

What is the deadline to respond?
